Spring has sprung

This was a cute little poem my dad used to say, in his Scottish accent, at the beginning of spring. The thought of it, puts a smile on my face. He always had such a joy for life and an appreciation for the simple things, like ice cream with KitKat laying in front of a warm fire, storytelling of cold weather and taking solace in a cave in your mind, playing crib poolside, and watching the buds pop out in the spring.

May holds many special days including my niece’s birthday, Mother’s Day, my mum’s birthday, my dad’s passing day, and my bestie’s birthday – and I’ve been thinking over the past few weeks about all of these incredible humans in my life and how grateful I am to be surrounded by love and laughter. A bitter, sweetness, as I’m reminded just how fleeting each season really is.

While I originally sat to post about the metaphor of trying to set a new intention (spring has sprung), setting in motion your intention (the grass has riz’), and acknowledging the lack of nagging negative self talk that sometimes holds us back (I wonder where the birdies is), I think my message is simply:

  • Keep your mindset positive.

  • Notice the beauty in every day.

  • Be grateful for the time that you have to spend with those you love.

Happy Spring!
